I painted this design at Hushinish, which is an extremely wild and raw place on the west side of the Isle of Harris in the outer Hebrides. I was in my van in the late afternoon in July 2019 and the sun was streaming in through the windows as the wind battered the sides of the van with wild energy as I painted.
